About TACCS C4i...
Modern Warfare
Five years ago BCB International were invited to write the software for what was initially described as an operational planning tool for Special Forces. In the intervening five years in an iterative process BCB have created a mature, sophisticated situational awareness programme designed to reduce the juniors commander’s workload in the direct fire zone by digitizing the control of his troops.
Uncomplicated, yet powerful software….
TACCS C4i is easy to set-up, learn and to operate. Designed by ex-members of the British Special Forces, each stage of the software architecture has been configured with the fighting soldier in mind. Minimal heads down time, clear and accurate mapping, plus the ability to see who is where, and what weaponry they are carrying, all facilitate good command and control. The software is currently operated on a MIL-STD-810F Panasonic 19 which is a rugged toughbook; a device also favored by the American Military, although it will operate on any PC platform (Limited when used on a PDA). This is housed in a purpose built vest together with the base-station. Total, all-up weight is less than 3kg.
TACCS C4i software main functions...
To provide a wide variety of geo-referenced mapping, including aerial photographs and the ability to add drawings on the screen.
To plot the position of soldiers as they move on the battlefield, complete with Call-sign ID, weapon type carried with a rapid visual update on movement.
To have the ability to pre-plan operations and submit orders to subordinate commanders with updates to the original plan as the situation evolved.
To be able to use the screen to display the standard military control measures such as boundaries, report lines, objective and limits of exploitation.
To lay off rapid Fire Missions or written orders to Platoon Atts & Dets.
To record and log all actions for analysis at a later date.
The ability to locate and recover injured or missing soldiers.
