‘Shields up’ with TACCS C4i
Soldiers can have a protective data “fence” shown around them which indicates that they are within the danger limit of a proposed indirect fire support mission. This can be linked to an automatic pause of the mission until the authorized commander overrides it. (applies only to units operating on the same radio network).

New Innovations Coming...
The implementation of a ‘Drift Drone’ UAV available directly to the Platoon Commander and controlled via the TACCS C4i mapping. This UAV can be programmed to launch from its transportable box, fly to target under autopilot control, hover or drift automatically / manually under visual control from the Platoon Commanders tablet. Still images will be automatically geo-referenced into the TACCS C4i software and streaming video will be captured. The UAV will return to its original launch location automatically. This ability will allow the Platoon Commander to see from an aerial view what is in front of him, thus avoiding ambush, it will provide instant updates to enemy movement. Range 1500m + flight duration 20 minutes.

Communications Control
Recent developments have shown that in addition to the Selex PRR, the Harris Falcon II will work well with TACCS C4i. BCB International Ltd are now trying a wide range of communication devices both civilian and military. The only criteria is that the radio is data enabled and that it has either an internal or external GPS attached.

Research
BCB International Ltd, continues to research the problems faced by soldiers on the battle field. A new field unit is to be set-up so that TACCS C4i can be tried and tested under real battle condtions.
